Get Involved! To be a successful band program, our students need year-round support from our band parents and members of the community. Concessions are the main fundraiser for the YHS Marching Band. The proceeds of concession sales are one of the main reasons our band fees are so low and are a huge source of revenue for the band for new equipment, supplies and travel expenses. Volunteering is super fun and easy and doesn’t require special training or skills.
Over the course of the year, each household is encouraged to donate 6 hours of time in concessions or other volunteer areas. In addition to helping raise money for their band, Students can use their volunteer hours for scholarships. Please contact us if should you have any questions.

If you or someone you know (individuals and/or businesses) might be interested in donating items, sponsoring events, or simply lending a hand, we want to hear from you! All parents, guardians, or other persons with a child enrolled and attending Yulee High School, and community members interested in supporting the Yulee Band Parent Association's mission are welcome and encouraged to participate. Don't forget to complete the Volunteer Background Check form prior to signing up. This must be completed every year.

How Can You Help?
Concessions
A large majority of the money the band raises come from concessions. It’s our bread and butter, as they say, and it takes a lot of hands in the kitchen to maximize our income! It’s a fun and easy way to get involved and meet other families in the band. There are a variety of positions available – all are no prior experience necessary! We run concessions for all home events at Yulee High School Football Field and other local events. So we need help in concessions from August to April. During football season we need at least 30 people per Friday Home game to run concessions. You can help as early as 3 pm for set-up before the game…up until we close around 10 pm. Work an hour or two or the whole game! This gets you in free for the game/to watch the band, too! Take your pick: slice & dice lemons, make fries/funnel cakes , run a register, prepare food as ordered, deliver food/drinks to the counter (called a runner) or help clean up as the game ends. Or help with ice or supply pick ups that we need each week if that works better for your schedule. The events after football season vary, but are just as important as every penny counts.
Chaperoning
To chaperone, you must complete a new application for the school year. Chaperones are necessary for home football games, as well as away games, band competitions, parades and group trips. The number needed per event varies, but football games usually require 4 min. We need a strong pool of willing chaperones so not every chaperone has to do every event. Maybe you only want to do home games – maybe you’d like to travel with the band (and see them perform) – it’s up to you! Background check are required to ensure the safety of our students. Trailer Puller
Have a pickup truck and feel comfortable towing things? We need your help! We have a trailer that we use for traveling events to transport our band equipment, props, and instruments. We need volunteers to pull the trailer for most away events (football games/band competitions), as well as for local events (like parades). If we don’t have trailer pullers, we can’t get our instruments and equipment to the events so it would be great to have a team of volunteers willing to pull so it doesn't become a full time job for the same few people for every event!

A few key questions that may help you decide if this volunteer gig is right for you:
