Volunteer Opportunities
Chaperone
To chaperone, you must complete a new application for the school year. This link is the same as filling out an application for the district volunteer! Chaperones are necessary for home football games, as well as away games, band competitions, parades and group trips. The number needed per event varies, but football games usually require 4 min. We need a strong pool of willing chaperones so not every chaperone has to do every event. Maybe you only want to do home games – maybe you’d like to travel with the band (and see them perform) – it’s up to you! Background checks are required to ensure the safety of our students.
Concessions
A good majority of the money the band raises comes from concessions and it takes a lot of hands in the kitchen to maximize our income! It’s a fun and easy way to get involved and meet other families in the band. There are a variety of positions – all are no prior experience necessary! We run concessions for all home events at Yulee High School Football Field and other local events. YBPA needs help in concessions from August to April. You can help as early as 3 pm for set-up before the game…up until we close around 10 pm. Work an hour or two or the whole game! Take your pick: slice & dice lemons, make fries/funnel cakes, run a register, prepare food as ordered, deliver food/drinks to the counter (called a runner) or help clean up as the game ends. You can also help with ice or supply pick ups that we need each week if that works better for your schedule. The events after football season vary, but are just as important!

We regularly update this list with new ways for you to earn volunteer credits, so please check back often. Additionally, we welcome your creative ideas for new volunteer roles! If you have a specific skill or passion you'd like to share with the MS1 Band, please contact us – we're always open to exploring new ways to get our community involved.
